IT Voice reported that Su-Kam Power Systems Limited had been named winner of the coveted ‘Market Leadership Award’ at the ‘Africa Leadership Awards’ 2013, held at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel in Mauritius. The awards were hosted by the Asian Confederation of Businesses and endorsed by CMO Asia, CMO Council, Stars of the Industry Group, World CSR Day and Thought Leaders.

Ten years of building in Africa

In 2003, Su-Kam became the first Indian power-backup company to start exporting power solutions to international markets. Its African journey began the same year. Over the next decade, Su-Kam built its presence country by country and became the leading power-backup brand across the continent.

Present in 30+ African countries

By the time of the award, Su-Kam was operating in more than 30 African countries — including Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Ethiopia, DR Congo, Malawi, Nigeria, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Gabon, Ghana, South Africa and Yemen. In markets such as Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi, Congo and Burundi, Su-Kam inverters, UPS and batteries were the No. 1 power-backup brand outright.

“The market leadership award conferred upon us reiterates our huge market strength & presence in the large and diverse continent of Africa. Since 2003 our team has worked ingeniously to understand the African market and provide customized, technologically advanced power-backup solutions to African citizens.”
