Su-Kam founder Kunwer Sachdev returns to the power industry with Su-vastika — a next-generation lithium inverter and solar solutions company built on lessons from India’s power-backup pioneer.
Kunwer Sachdev — widely known across India as “The Inverter Man of India” and the founder of Su-Kam Power Systems — has launched a new company, Su-vastika, to build the next generation of lithium-based inverters, energy storage systems and solar power solutions. The launch was covered by The Guardian in Nigeria, one of West Africa’s largest English dailies, in September 2022.
Building on Su-Kam’s legacy
Su-Kam Power Systems, founded by Sachdev in 1998, grew into India’s largest inverter and power-solutions company at its peak. The Guardian’s piece traces how Sachdev is now applying decades of manufacturing and R&D experience to a company designed from the ground up for lithium chemistry, IoT connectivity and modern solar-hybrid workloads.
Why Su-vastika, why now
Lithium-ion battery costs have fallen sharply, rooftop solar has scaled, and Indian homes and small businesses now demand backup that lasts longer, weighs less and integrates with the grid.
