From Setbacks to Comebacks: The Power of Never Giving Up

Kunwer Sachdev May 30, 2026 6 min read Resilience · Mindset

There is a moment in every entrepreneur’s life when the lights go out—not literally, but figuratively. The sales drop. The team loses faith. The market shifts. And in that darkness, you have only one real choice: find the backup power within yourself.

I have lived this story. Not once, but many times. In the video above, I sat down to talk about something that doesn’t get discussed enough in the shiny world of business success stories: the art of handling failure.

Resilience is not a trait — it’s a decision you make every single morning.

The Myth of Overnight Success

When people look at Su-Kam, they see a success story. They see market leadership, innovation in power backup, and a brand that became a household name. But what they don’t see are the sleepless nights, the bankers refusing loans, the inventory that didn’t move, and the moments I asked myself, “Is this the end?”

Success is not a straight line. It is a graph full of crashes, short circuits, and unexpected overloads. The difference between those who win and those who quit is not talent or money. It is relentless resilience.

🔥 Reality check: Most entrepreneurs and professionals give up when they are just one step away from a breakthrough. Pain is a terrible advisor. When you are losing money or facing public failure, your brain screams at you to stop. But that’s exactly when you must lean in.

Why Most People Give Up Too Early

In the video linked above, I share a critical insight: failure is not an enemy — it’s a strict teacher. It strips away your ego, your bad habits, and your illusions. Once you accept that, you stop fearing it. And the moment you stop fearing failure, you become unstoppable.

The Three Questions That Saved My Business

During my toughest days, I didn’t pray for a miracle. I asked myself three hard questions. Answer them with brutal honesty:

1. What is the one thing I am doing today that is keeping me stuck? → For me, it was holding on to products the market no longer wanted. I had to let go.
2. Who can help me that I haven’t asked yet? → Ego stops us from seeking help. Swallow your pride. Ask.
3. If I knew I could not fail, what would I do differently? → This unlocks courage. Use it. Dream big again.

Answering these changed everything. It forced me to pivot, innovate, and fight another day.

“Failure is not an option — it’s a curriculum. Learn the lesson, then lead the comeback.”

Your Comeback Starts Now

I am not sharing this to tell you that life is easy. It is not. But I am sharing this to remind you that you are stronger than your current problem. Whether you are building a business, managing a team, or simply trying to get through a difficult personal phase — remember this: The same electricity that powers your home also flows through storms. Energy is never destroyed. It only transforms.

So transform your pain into purpose. Transform your failure into fuel.

Keep fighting. Keep rising. — Kunwer Sachdev
